The Red Town Hall was erected from bricks, the building material of the region. This alone sets it apart from the buildings of the Hohenzollern dynasty, which shaped the historic centre of Berlin in the 19th century.
The stone relief invites you to take a very special walk through Berlin’s history. It encircles the entire building and presents events from the city’s development from Christianisation to the founding of the German Empire in 1871.
